What Does Nyack Need? Main Street to Broadway…Taking a Vote.

If you drive through Nyack these days, you will notice a bunch of vacant storefronts. As a Nyack resident and local Realtor specializing in the commercial area, I have been fortunate to be instrumental in the following businesses landing their locations:

Art Cafe, Main Essentials, True Food Cafe, Playing Mantis, Nyack Hot Yoga, Nyack Burger Hop and several others.

My quest with this blog is to find out what YOU feel Nyack is still missing. I get many calls on my retail storefronts and most of them are for businesses we already have, or just don’t seem to work for Nyack. Merchants come and go too quickly. Too much turnover. I have my own opinion on what we need here in the village, but I want to hear from YOU. I have a great retail storefront at 116A Main Street that is being totally renovated for Nyack’s next new business. I want to attract a tenant that will thrive in Nyack and succeed. One that Nyack residents want.

I am taking a vote so that I can then post the results on this blog which I will then get out to local entrepreneurs who might then see the opportunities available in Nyack. And maybe they will then seize these opportunities and bring to Nyack what we all want.

So please add to this blog and let me know what new businesses you want to see in Nyack.

   Nyack needs a cool lounge/restaurant that turns into a good late night spot with real DJ’s that spin international music, not your typical college type bar with Z100 and Hot 97 music.

   Or

   A great bar-type venue for live music that attracts the best talent in the Hudson Valley.

   Or

   Urban Outfiiters type retail store.

   Thanks Adam….I like your ideas.

   It sounds like Vertigo would be a great location for what you’re thinking. They have the space for a venue like that.

   An urban outfitters would be awesome for Nyack.

   We need unique, funky stores that give people a reason to come to Nyack and shop so that they can then get hungry and eat in our great restaurants.
