Utah Ski Trip December 2009 : The Greatest Snow On Earth!

Good Afternoon Everybody!

April 8th, 2009 : Vail, Colorado marked the last day we skied in the 2008-2009 season. However, roughly 7 months later the 2009-2010 ski season got underway in the beautiful state of Utah!

We landed in Salt Lake City on Saturday, December 19th and headed up to Park City, the home of the 2002 Winter Olympic Games. We stayed there for two nights and skied The Canyons, the largest mountain by acreage in the State of Utah. If you didn’t all ready know, Utah’s slogan is that they have the greatest snow on Earth. The reason you ask? It’s because of the dry air and the lake effect snow that comes off the Great Salt Lake. Is it true you ask? Hell yea! The snow stays light and fresh even after sitting around for a few days and when it dumped on Tuesday, it got even crazier, floating through the pow, Cadillacking on corduroy and chopping down wood in the glades baby!

Next we hit up Sandy, Utah and stayed in an amazing hotel that I would recommend to anyone.  The Hyatt Summerfield Suites was $99/night but, we got the 4th night free through an online deal.  From there we took a public bus that brought us up to the Little and Big Cottonwood Canyons where we skied, Alta/Snowbird and Brighton/Solitude.

Check out my video and let the moving pictures do the talking!  Until next time….
