The Nanuet Mall-RIP???

The other day, I needed to return something at Sears, and had an hour to waste, so I ran over to the Nanuet Mall.  Yikes, I haven’t been there in quite a while. The place is empty, there are hardly any stores and even Macy’s didn’t seemed have alot of merchandise.  This is so sad, this use to be the place to go when you needed something.  So, now what?  What should be done with that great space? Well, today in the Rockland Journal New there was an article on the front page,  exactly about this issue. It seems that Simon, the management company, has been meeting with our Town Supervisor, Alex Gromack, for the past several months and has now stopped all communication. In the past, there has been talk about making this mall an upscale mall, or sports complex, or a parking lot.  It is unfortunate that it has come to this, I feel for the tenants, do they stay or do they go?  What I did see there were batting cages, and kids working on their pitching.  Pretty good idea, since you can always find a parking spot and you don’t have to worry about crowds.

RIP Nanuet Mall, you were good to us in Rockland long ago.   Kacy Coyle Dow, Licensed Sales Associate
