Shrove Tuesday, Pancake Dinner at Grace Episcopal Church in Nyack

Today is Shrove Tuesday, which comes from the last day of “shrovetide”…it is similiar to Fat Tuesday of Mardi Gras celebrations and the last day of Carnival.

So, each year, the confirmands at Grace Church put on the dinner of freshly griddled pancakes, unending bacon and lots of Mardi Gras fun!  The practice is derived from getting rid of all your fat, butter, etc which often people give up for Lent!

So come on out!  Enjoy the pancakes — It’s only $5 for the first person and $1 for each additional family member!  It’s 5:30 tonight at Grace Church at 130 First Avenue corner of Franklin St in Nyack.
