“The Price is Right”
If you price your home right it will sell, no doubt. Talk to us, we’ll help you price it using our unique pricing formula I devised. By the way, Wright Bros. Real Estate was the number one real estate office in the Nyacks and River villages in terms of closed units for 2009. We’re really proud of that.

Wright Bros. Potluck Party and Fiscal Sense
It recently occurred to me that LAST YEAR was really a gift. Yes, the Rockland County, New York Real Estate market was down significantly. Yes, business for many of my friends was much slower than usual. Yes, as a result of all of this personal incomes took a significant hit. But through our trials and tribulations we can come out ahead. WAY AHEAD. Let’s learn from the lessons before us. One really important lesson I learned is that while Wright Bros. Real Estate has been a leader in on-line internet messaging to the buying public, we still used print heavily. Well, guess what? We found that we needed to pare our expenses significantly, in order to maintain profitability, as did our friends throughout our industry and beyond. One major expense we were able to practically eliminate altogether was classified print - a huge portion of our marketing dollars! Our new client base is still, even in this market, growing at several hundred registered users per month! Our attention to internet marketing, and our decision to practically eliminate classified was a winner. As for the Wright Bros. Potluck Party, we also decided that this year we were not going to have an expensive company party at a restaurant…we held a Potluck Party at River RIdge Estates in South Nyack….got to taste lots of great food we prepared….in a relaxed “jeans atmosphere”, had lots of different wines and beverages, played “scene it”….and had one of the best times I can remember in a long time. Not spending a fortune all the time can have its rewards. Shift your thinking - it works! Russ Woolley
Hudson House and Fireplaces
Just a few shopping days until Christmas. You know, the other night, the night of the big storm, I decided to venture out into the white-out conditions, and find a cozy place to have dinner. After much back and forth in my head, I decided to go visit Matt Hudson at Hudson House in Nyack. Jose at the bar recommended the cheddar cheese wheat stout soup, and I decided on my own to have the braised short ribs. Bottom line? I had one of the best dinners I’ve ever had! This isn’t a restaurant review, per se, but I just had to tell you how happy I was with this meal. It was an experience! Seriously.
Justin, my co-owner is in the office today working on and sharpening our blogging skills. As you may know Justin Tracy is the pre-eminent source for all things internet, all things tech, all things cool (we’ll talk about that another time) We understand the need to have relevant and current information on our blogs, and why they’re important. We’re going to have about 6 or 7 of our agents write once or twice a week about things real estate and non real estate, but interesting.
I’m a lucky guy to work in an office where there is a working fireplace. Usually have real wood stored behind the building, and I make a wood fire. Well, the wood got rotten over the last Summer season, so it’s trash now. I went to a convenience store to buy a “duraflame” log (which I’m not crazy about but it’s better than no fire) and it was really expensive to buy by the single log. I went over to “Herb Lack” on Main St, and Lenny told me that an entire box was about $20. What a deal!
New listings are trickling in these past few days at a VERY slow rate. Ditto with sales, but we anticipate that after the first of the year things are going to “pop” Rates are really, really low - think about buying, you’ll get a good deal and great financing options are out there for you
Wanted: 5 - 10 Tech-Savvy Agents
Wright Bros. Real Estate is a very successful 80 year old company, with an ever changing and refreshing approach to business. Wright Bros. is owned by two great guys, Russ Woolley and Justin Tracy. Russ has been in the business for 30 years, and manages the operation on a day-to-day basis. Justin is a “serial entrepreneur” who plays bass in a band and snowboards in his back yard, and this year became Russ’ equity partner. A few years ago Justin developed Realty Generator (a real estate lead generation system) and sold it to House Values, see an article on him in, Business Week. Justin is excited to leverage his previous experience of managing over 200 brokerages and 6000 Realtors in helping Wright Bros become the new model of how real estate is transacted.
