Enjoy a Glorious Fourth of July!

After enjoying numerous beers at the Old ‘76 House in Tappan, which is owned by my rowing partner Robert Norden, the bill finally came due. On the evening of Saturday, July 4, I will don my Continental Army uniform, and perhaps with yet another beer in hand, I will read the Declaration of Independence to the assembled multitudes eating dinner there.

I can’t think of a better place in Rockland County in which to enjoy the Fourth, since its colonial ambiance is only equaled by the quality of its meals. That gives me some hope that no one will willingly throw food in my general direction to shut me up, but if anyone tosses a spare rib at me, I’ll certainly try to catch and eat it. Maybe I’ll bring my musket and bayonet along, just in case the colonial rabble get out of hand. Join us around 6:30, and stay for the music at 8.
